RELATIONSHIP COUNSELLING
All relationships go through difficult times. Relationship therapy, sometimes called couples counselling or marriage counselling, provides space for couples to explore issues and find solutions to problems within their relationship. Through encouraging clarity, openness and communication, relationship therapy can be useful for:
- Couples who are having relationship problems and want to resolve these conflicts
- Couples who are facing the end of a relationship but want to try to work things out first
- Couples who are ending their relationship but want to end on good terms
- Couples experiencing sexual or intimacy issues within their relationship
- Individuals who want to understand why their relationships are not working or who want to change destructive patterns in order to create more satisfying relationships in the future
Relationships are an essential part of our lives. Sessions with an experienced relationship therapist give couples confidential space to talk openly about their relationships in an atmosphere that promotes understanding and resolution. Our relationship therapists manage this process while maintaining a neutral, non-judgemental position at all times.
As with individual therapy, the first appointment provides a chance for a couple to identify any issues, determine any specific goals in therapy and begin a process of open, constructive communication. Any concerns about relationship counselling can also be addressed at this time.
